Widget FAQ

There are some articles on the site that aren't on the widget

The articles on the widget are running off of an RSS feed. It may take a little bit for the feed to update. If you have waited for a while and there is still no new articles try deleting the widget from your dashboard and the re-adding it again.

Note that you do not need to uninstall the widget, just delete it off of the dashboard by holding down the option key and hover the mouse over the widget. Then push the X button to delete it.

My computer says the browser can't open the page

Our widgets are for the Mac only. If you are trying to open the page on a Windows computer, it won’t work because .wdgt is not a supported file type on Windows. If you are on a Mac that has a dashboard on it (OS X 10.4 or later) and are still having this problem we recommend that you update your browser to the latest version. If you have any further problems you may want to contact your browser company or the widget file host (Dropbox).

After the download is done it says that it can't open because it's from an unidentified developer

This happens for every widget that is downloaded on a Mac. What you need to do is go to the downloads section in Finder. Next, right click on the widget and select open. It will bring up a page that says it’s from an unidentified developer. Click on open button and then the install button. That’s it! We also have a video on this that you can watch below.

Why does it say that there is no feed specified?

For some reason there is a probelm fetching the RSS feed. This is a common problem with people have slow Internet connections. However, this is not mojor. Just stay in the Dashboard for a few more seconds and it will try again and load the feed. Then everything will be working perfectly again.
